Space Survival

A tactical space-defense simulator combining top-down action with real Operating System CPU scheduling principles.

Controls

Movement & Aiming

  • W, A, S, D / Arrow Keys – Move the tactical frame
  • Mouse Cursor / Touch – Aim and control fire trajectory

Primary Actions

  • Left Click / Mouse Down – Fire primary weapon
  • Right Click – Secondary targeting / ping

Weapons & Systems

  • 1, 2 – Select weapon
  • X – Cycle between weapons
  • Q – Cycle OS/CPU schedulers (FCFS, Round Robin, HRRN)
  • Y – Toggle Autopilot (Neural Link – the frame navigates autonomously)

Defense & Mobility

  • E – Emergency Shields (consumes 20 stamina, grants shield blocks)
  • C – Dash (quick burst evade, consumes 15 stamina)
  • Shift – Boost / Sprint (continuous speed increase, consumes stamina)
  • F – Overclock (damage boost, drains all shields and stamina completely)
  • Shift + E – The Sacrifice (near a Boss anomaly, triggers a manual reboot to implode the boss)

Pause & System Control

  • Space Bar / P – Tactical pause & target queue inspection
  • Esc – System pause

Objective

Test and compare different CPU scheduling algorithms against escalating swarms of hostile anomalies.

As you switch between schedulers (FCFS, Round Robin, HRRN), observe how each one affects:

  1. Target acquisition order and responsiveness
  2. Average wait time before each threat is processed
  3. Priority handling under heavy load

Experiment with basic FCFS (First-Come, First-Served) versus more dynamic loops like Round Robin (RR) and Highest Response Ratio Next (HRRN). See how your tactical performance changes as the chaos intensifies and your threat queue fills up.
